Obverse description Highly stylized and degenerated effigy of the goddess Kali depicted standing facing, rendered in a crude, abstracted manner typical of late South Indian fanam coinage. The figure retains vestigial anthropomorphic features including suggestion of arms and a central body form, though the design has been significantly degraded through successive die cutting generations. The overall relief is low and the surfaces display the characteristic irregular flan of hammered gold coinage.
