| Reverse description | Degenerate Nagari inscription reading 'Rama Raya', heavily stylized and reduced through repeated die copying to a near-abstract arrangement of strokes and curves. The legend, derived from earlier South Indian temple coinage traditions, is rendered in a crude, compressed form characteristic of late Dutch India fanam issues from Nagapatnam. Individual aksharas are discernible but significantly degraded, set within the plain round field with no border or additional ornament. |
