Obverse description Stylized deity figure of Narasimha, the man-lion avatar of Vishnu, rendered in a highly schematic and compact manner characteristic of South Indian gold fanam coinage. The figure appears seated or crouching in the field, with abbreviated limbs and a granular, pellet-bordered surround typical of Mysore hammered gold issues. The diminutive flan restricts detail, but the iconographic motif is consistent with Vaishnava devotional imagery prevalent on Mysore regal coinage of the mid-seventeenth century.

Reverse description Partially legible Devanagari inscription arranged in horizontal registers across the coin field, reading 'Sri / Kamthi / rava', representing an abbreviated rendering of the royal name Kanthirava, the regnal title of the Mysore ruler Kanthirava Narasaraja Wadiyar (r. 1638–1662). The legend is boldly incuse and occupies the majority of the reverse field, with characters showing the compressed, angular style typical of hammered gold fanams of this region and period.
