Reverse description A highly stylized and schematic depiction of the goddess Kali dominates the field, rendered in the abstract local artistic tradition typical of Cochin fanam coinage. The figure is represented by a curved form suggestive of the deity's outstretched limbs, with a cluster of raised pellets at center representing the conch shell (shankha) held within or associated with the figure. A large curved arc to the left of the field further articulates the composition. The overall design is boldly struck but deliberately primitive in style, consistent with the artistic conventions of South Indian temple coinage of the period.
