Aanvullende informatie

Shujah Shah Durrani's second reign was a direct product of British intervention — installed by the Army of the Indus in 1839, he had spent roughly two decades in exile before being returned to the Afghan throne as a client ruler. This Kabul mint copper dates to the very eve of that invasion, placing it among the final issues struck under whatever nominal authority he held before British forces arrived to prop up his rule entirely. He was assassinated in 1842, shortly after the catastrophic British retreat from Kabul destroyed the political arrangement that had kept him in power.
