| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse bears a bold Arabic inscription in Naskh script occupying the central field, reading 'Fulus Qand 1108' (فلوس قند ١١٠٨), identifying the denomination, mint abbreviation for Qandahar, and the AH date 1108 (corresponding to AD 1696). The lettering is struck in high relief against a flat field, with individual characters showing the characteristic boldness of hammered provincial copper issues. The rectangular flan exhibits irregular edges and surface granularity consistent with the crude workmanship typical of Afghan city coinage of this era. Faint traces of a border or rim decoration may be observed on portions of the periphery. |

Qandahar in the 1690s was under Safavid administrative control following the Persian reconquest of the city from the Mughals, a back-and-forth struggle that had seen the city change hands repeatedly across the seventeenth century. Municipal copper issues of this type were struck locally to meet small-denomination demand that imperial mints rarely prioritized. The Album reference 3253 places it within a recognized series, but surviving examples are uncommon enough that die varieties remain poorly documented in the literature.
