Obverse description Square hammered copper flan bearing a bold Arabic inscription arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line. The upper register displays the ruler's name and title in raised Naskh-style lettering, filling the field. The lower register contains additional Arabic legend. The entire design is contained within the square boundary of the flan, with the deeply struck characters showing the characteristic irregularity of hand-hammered medieval Indian sultanate coinage.
