Obverse description Hammered copper flan displaying a three-line Arabic legend arranged within a divided field, separated by a horizontal rule. The upper register bears the word 'al-Sultan' in bold raised relief, while the central and lower registers carry the royal name 'Mahmud Shah' and the dynastic epithet 'al-Khalji' respectively. The script is executed in a robust, angular Naskh style typical of Malwa Sultanate copper coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly domed, with characteristic surface patination of olive-green and brown tones consistent with prolonged burial.
