Obverse description Irregular square hammered flan bearing a bold Arabic legend in the field, executed in a cursive Naskh-style script characteristic of Mughal copper coinage. The inscription, rendered in raised relief, occupies the majority of the flan within a square border. The die-struck lettering is somewhat crudely executed, consistent with provincial Mughal mint practice, and the flan may present as slightly rectangular due to the irregular hand-cut planchet. The fields surrounding the legend show the characteristic rough surface texture typical of base-metal hammered issues of the period.
