| Obverse description | Irregular hammered copper flan bearing a prominent countermark applied in the lower portion of the field, consisting of a roughly circular incuse punch enclosing intertwined Arabic script or calligraphic device in high relief. The surrounding field is uneven and heavily textured, consistent with hand-struck production. The countermark partially overlaps the host coin's original design, the residual details of which are largely effaced. The coin's broad, thick fabric and irregular outline are characteristic of provincial Indian copper falus coinage. |
