Obverse description Crude Arabic legend fills the irregularly shaped field, struck on a small, roughly circular bronze flan typical of medieval East African hammered coinage. The inscription, executed in a bold if somewhat informal hand, references the ruling sultan and is arranged in multiple lines across the die area. Two small pellets are visible in the lower field, serving as decorative or separating elements between lines of text. The overall die work is characteristic of the limited technical resources of the Mogadishu mint in the mid-fourteenth century, with letters showing considerable relief against the dark patinated surface.

Reverse description The reverse presents a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged across the full field of the irregular flan, again in the bold, somewhat cursive style characteristic of Mogadishu sultanate coinage of this period. The legend, referencing the sultan's titles or the mint, is divided into two or three registers and fills the available die space with little or no decorative border. The flan edges are uneven and show the characteristic irregular clipping of hand-cut bronze blanks. Dark patination covers the surface, with areas of raised lettering retaining cleaner metal, attesting to the coin's long circulation or burial history.
