Sulayman II spent much of his reign in near-constant military motion — campaigns against the Saltukids, the Danishmendids, and Armenians of Cilicia, plus an ultimately fatal eastern push against the Eldiguzids of Azerbaijan, where he died in battle at Akhlatshah in 1196. Coins struck under his name were produced across a sultanate rarely at peace, which partly explains the wide variation in fabric and execution seen across surviving fals of this type.
The A#1205.1 classification places this within Album's broader Seljuk of Rum sequence — a notoriously difficult series to attribute precisely given inconsistent mint operation during the period.
