Obverse description Struck on an irregular flan typical of Burid copper coinage, the obverse bears a three-line Arabic kufic-style legend arranged across the field reading السلطان / تاج الملوك / بوري, translating as 'The Sultan / Taj al-Muluk / Buri', proclaiming the authority of the Burid ruler. The bold, raised Arabic letters are hammered in relief against a plain copper field, with no border or decorative framing elements. The script shows characteristic Ayyubid-era angular forms with visible die wear and flan irregularities consistent with hand-struck provincial coinage.
