Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic Kufic legend within a beaded inner circle, reading the Shahada (Islamic profession of faith): 'La ilaha illa Allah / Muhammad rasul Allah,' with an additional line below. An outer marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script runs within a plain border, separated from the central device by a beaded annulus.
