| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely epigraphic, displaying the Islamic shahada in three lines of Kufic Arabic script across the flat, unbordered field of this irregular hammered copper flan. The legend reads the declaration of faith affirming the unity of God and His uniqueness. The script is rendered in a plain, angular Kufic style typical of early Abbasid provincial coinage from Sind, with no decorative border or marginal legend. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges and surface patination consistent with hammered copper issues of the period. |
