Iceland never circulated a 1 eyrir coin in aluminium — this piece was struck as a pattern in 1966, almost certainly as part of a broader reform exercise that ultimately produced the aluminium aurar series introduced in 1970. Pattern issues from the Hafnarfjörður-era Icelandic mint are rarely documented in depth, and surviving examples from this specific trial remain outside most reference catalogs.
