The "Europ Ceros" patterns were produced in 2003 as part of a private fantasy essay series exploring what Swiss euro coinage might look like had Switzerland joined the eurozone — a political question the country has consistently refused to resolve. Switzerland rejected EU membership in a 1992 referendum and has never seriously revisited euro adoption, making these pieces speculative rather than official trial strikes. They were not commissioned by the Swiss Federal Mint.
