Beschrijving keerzijde A classical allegorical seated female figure, partially draped with one breast exposed, is depicted in the copper-nickel centre facing slightly left, holding a sceptre or torch in her right hand. Behind the figure, a large numeral 1 extends across the centre field, overlaid with radiating lines. The brass outer ring is adorned with twelve five-pointed stars arranged around the circumference, referencing European Union symbolism. Below the central figure, an oval cartouche bears the inscription SPECIMEN, with the euro sign E visible beneath it in the lower centre.

Aanvullende informatie

Slovakia's euro-denomination coins were struck years before the country actually adopted the euro — a preparatory exercise required by the EU accession process. This 2003 specimen predates Slovak eurozone membership by six years; Slovakia didn't introduce the euro until January 2009, making these early issues purely transitional artifacts produced to test dies, planchets, and public familiarity with the incoming currency.
