Beschrijving voorzijde Central nickel field depicts a traditionally dressed farmer in full figure, holding a scythe diagonally across the composition, evoking rural Macedonian agricultural heritage. A horse and farm implements are visible in the background, rendered in a stylised, folk-art manner. The legend MACEDONIA arcs along the upper portion of the nordic gold outer ring, with the date 2005 positioned to the right. Beschrijving keerzijde Central field features a stylised floral motif to the left accompanied by a candle, evoking traditional Macedonian decorative arts. Twelve five-pointed stars encircle the design in the outer nordic gold ring, consistent with the euro coinage series pattern. The legend PROVE PROVA PROBE TEST ESSAI arcs across the upper portion of the reverse, identifying the piece as a multi-lingual fantasy or trial strike. Aanvullende informatie

North Macedonia began formal EU candidacy discussions in the early 2000s, and trial euro pieces like this one were struck in anticipation of eventual eurozone accession. That accession has not occurred. The country's path was blocked for over a decade largely by Greece's objection to the constitutional name "Republic of Macedonia," a dispute only resolved by the 2018 Prespa Agreement — which also produced the country's current name.

Probe issues of this type were never legal tender and saw no circulation.
