Beschrijving keerzijde The copper-nickel centre features a classical draped female figure seated facing left, holding a sceptre in her right hand, rendered in neoclassical style against a background of diagonal parallel lines. To her right, the large numeral '1' dominates the field, forming the denomination. A ring of twelve five-pointed stars encircles the outer edge of the brass ring, referencing the European Union motif. An oval cartouche in the lower exergue bears the inscription SPECIMEN, and the letter 'E' appears to the right of the seated figure.

Aanvullende informatie

Slovenia's pre-accession euro pattern series was produced in 2003–2004 as part of the technical and design approval process required before any candidate state could formally adopt the euro. The Slovenian pieces are notable for being among the earliest central European accession-country patterns struck in correct bimetallic specification, produced well before Slovenia's official eurozone entry in January 2007 — the first of the 2004 EU enlargement cohort to make that transition.

Surviving examples reached collectors almost exclusively through official channels; none entered general circulation.
