| Obverse description | View of the Roman bridge (Pont Roman) of Nyons spans the central field, rendered in relief. Above the bridge, a continuous legend arcs across the upper field, flanked by the twelve stars of the European Union arranged in a semicircle. An olive branch bearing five olives extends along the lower portion of the design, referencing Nyons's celebrated olive-growing heritage.
