The reverse, common to all Eurozone 1 euro cent coins, features a planisphere depicting the globe with Europe centrally positioned in relation to Africa and Asia, rendered in a stylised cartographic design. The denomination '1 EURO CENT' is inscribed in two lines to the left of the globe, with the engraver's initials 'LL' (for Luc Luycx) appearing to the right of the globe in the lower field. The design was created by Luc Luycx of the Royal Belgian Mint and adopted as the standard reverse design for all participating Eurozone nations. |
