Obverse description	The obverse depicts a stylised oak twig bearing two leaves and an acorn, a traditional German symbol of strength and stability, rendered in low relief at the centre of the field. The design is encircled by a ring of twelve five-pointed stars representing the member states of the European Union. The mint mark appears to the left of the twig, and the year of issue is inscribed to the right, both in the field. The composition was designed by Rolf Lederbogen.
