Beschrijving voorzijde A peasant woman in traditional dress stands at left in the field of the hortillonnages, carrying a basket of produce and accompanied by harvesting tools; a flat-bottomed boat rests in the waterway at right, with a winding canal and the Amiens cathedral skyline rendered in the background. Marsh vegetation frames the scene at left. The curved legend LES HORTILLONNAGES arcs along the upper rim, and D'AMIENS appears in the lower field near the border.

Aanvullende informatie

Amiens was among dozens of French municipalities that issued their own "euro" tokens in the years immediately preceding the currency's official launch, a phenomenon the French called *euros des villes*. These civic issues had no legal tender status and circulated purely as promotional and collectible pieces, typically exchangeable at local businesses during limited campaigns designed to familiarize the public with the incoming currency's denominations before genuine coins arrived in 1999–2002.
