One of several hundred local euro anticipation notes issued across France in the run-up to the single currency, this Périgueux CCI piece belongs to a well-documented but still poorly catalogued wave of privately-circulated promotional scrip from 1997–1999. The franc conversion rate printed on the face — 6.66F — reflects the fixed irrevocable rate of 6.55957 francs per euro rounded for practical retail use, a common shortcut that occasionally caused minor discrepancies at participating merchants.

Bleu & Cie handled numerous issues in this genre. Acceptance was strictly voluntary and geographically limited to businesses affiliated with the Périgueux chamber.
