| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features a stylised oak and olive tree composition, their branches and leaves radiating outward symmetrically from a central stem, enclosed within a geometric hexagonal framework evoking the shape of France. The three Republican mottoes LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, and FRATERNITÉ are inscribed vertically among the branches in the field. The mint year appears at the base of the design, flanked by the mint mark and the engraver's privy mark, with the monogram RF (République Française) prominently displayed at the lower centre. The engraver's signature J. JIMENEZ is present in the field. The nickel brass outer ring bears twelve raised five-pointed stars, the symbol of the European Union. |
