1 Euro 2nd map

Germany's "2nd map" euro issues introduced the updated EU map incorporating the ten countries that joined in 2004, replacing the original reverse that had shown only the fifteen pre-enlargement members. The change was mandated across all eurozone states simultaneously in 2007, making this a coordinated reminting rather than a German initiative.

Production spans five mint facilities — Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, and Hamburg — each carrying its own mint mark, which has made the series a natural target for date-and-mint combinations among collectors of modern German coinage.
