Reverse description The central device depicts a standing female figure in the allegorical style, shown semi-draped in a feathered skirt and wearing a plumed helmet, leaning with her right arm upon a square stone pedestal or column inscribed with the date 15 DE SET.e DE 1821, commemorating Central American independence. The figure holds a bundle of arrows in her left hand, emblematic of strength and unity. The circular legend AMERICA CENTRAL is inscribed around the upper periphery, while 21 Qs, the denomination mark 1 E., and the engraver's initials J.B. appear distributed around the lower field and flanking the central device. A fine denticled border frames the entire composition.
