| Obverse description | The obverse displays the quartered Royal Arms of Castile and León, depicting castles and lions in alternating quarters, with the Granada pomegranate at the base of the shield. The arms are surmounted by the Royal Crown of Spain rendered in high relief. To the right of the shield, the denomination numeral '1' is visible in the field. The design is characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage tradition, with the irregularly shaped flan causing partial striking of the surrounding legend. |
