| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central device consists of the quartered royal arms of Castile and León, displaying alternating castles and lions within a shield, executed in the characteristic crude but bold style of hammered coinage. The shield is enclosed within a plain inner border, with the mint mark and assayer initial visible to the left of the shield. A partial Latin legend encircles the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan, partially visible due to the nature of hammered production.
