| Obverse description | Armored bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in the neoclassical portrait style characteristic of late colonial Spanish coinage. The effigy is surrounded by a circular legend naming the monarch and his titles, with the date appearing at the bottom of the coin. On variety KM#118.1 the mint mark and assayer's initials appear in upright orientation, while on variety KM#118.2 they are inverted. |
