| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Carlos III facing right, portrayed as a youthful effigy with short curled hair and a prominent ruffled collar, executed in high relief in the Spanish colonial milled tradition. The legend CAR·III·D·G·HISP·ET·IND·R encircles the bust, identifying the monarch as King of Spain and the Indies by the Grace of God. The date of issue appears in the exergue beneath the truncation of the bust. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Crowned quartered coat of arms of the Spanish monarchy, with the castles of Castile and lions of León occupying the principal quarters, and a central escutcheon bearing the Bourbon fleurs-de-lis. The royal crown surmounts the shield, and the Lima mint mark together with the assayer initials JM flank the base of the shield in the lower field. The circumscribed legend IN·UTROQ·FELIX· proclaims the sovereign's felicity in both worlds. |
