Polaroid operated a document copying and enlargement service in Canada during the latter half of the twentieth century, issuing these paper vouchers for use within its Rexdale facility — a suburb of Toronto that housed one of the company's major Canadian operations. These are not banknotes in any monetary sense but service scrip: internal or retail tokens redeemable for a single 5x5 enlargement print, likely sold in advance or bundled with film purchases.
Rexdale-issued Polaroid material rarely surfaces in numismatic or notaphilic collections. Most were used and discarded.
