| Obverse description | Central field features a colorized scenic depiction of the Montgolfier brothers' historic hot air balloon ascent of November 1783, rendered in polychrome enamel. The ornate balloon, decorated with elaborate painted motifs in blue, green, and gold, is shown aloft above a classical French chateau with formal grounds and smoking braziers at the base of the launch poles. The legend PRINCIPAUTE DE MONACO arcs along the upper border, while the inscription MONTGOLFIER NOVEMBRE 1783 appears within the colorized central scene.
