| Obverse description | The civic arms of Augsburg depicted as a large pine cone, the heraldic symbol of the city, centrally placed above an ornate cartouche or shield, flanked by two reclining river gods — personifications of the rivers Lech and Wertach — rendered in the Baroque style. The date is divided and appears in the exergual area at the bottom, split across the base of the composition, with a small star or ornament at center. The circumferential legend AVGVSTA VINDELICOR. runs around the upper periphery of the field. |
