| Obverse description | The crowned municipal arms of Utrecht occupy the central field, displaying a quartered shield with a diagonal band, surmounted by a civic crown. The shield is supported on either side by a rampant lion, each facing inward and grasping the escutcheon with its forepaws. A decorative foliate scroll ornament appears beneath the shield in the lower field. The coin has a beaded border running along the entire circumference, and the design is rendered in high relief consistent with a presentation or pattern strike. |
