Reverse description Central field features the crowned Arms of West Friesland, a quartered heraldic shield surmounted by a decorative crown with prominent volutes, the shield divided into quarters bearing lions and barry elements in the traditional West Frisian armorial style. The design is boldly struck in high relief consistent with piedfort production. A continuous Latin devotional legend encircles the shield within a beaded border, the lettering separated by pellets.
