背面描述 Plain field bearing a three-line Latin abbreviation legend arranged across the center of the square klippe flan, with the abbreviated provincial name distributed across the field in large bold lettering. The inscription reads GRON. / ET. OML. with the date 1682 below, the simple layout reflecting the utilitarian nature of this emergency issue.

附加信息

Klippe coinage — struck on square or irregularly cut planchets rather than round ones — was typically emergency issue production, but Groningen's copper duits of this form occupy an odd category: they were deliberate provincial issues, not crisis substitutes. The Ommelanden, the rural district surrounding the city of Groningen, maintained a fractious political relationship with the city itself throughout the seventeenth century, and separate coinage authority was one of several points of contention between the two powers, who were nominally united as a single voting province in the States-General but administered their fiscal affairs with considerable independence.

KM#35 is a scarce type. The square format saw limited production runs compared to the round duit issues of the same province.
