| Beschrijving voorzijde | Quartered episcopal shield of arms occupying the central field, displaying the Cross of Utrecht in the first and fourth quarters, the rampant Lion of the Palatinate in the second quarter, and the lozengy field of Bavaria in the third quarter. The shield is rendered in a late-medieval heraldic style characteristic of hammered coinage. A Latin legend in Gothic lettering encircles the shield, identifying the issuing authority. The overall composition is consistent with the armorial duit coinage of Henry of Bavaria as Bishop-elect of Utrecht. |
