| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field presents the arms of Utrecht — a crowned episcopal cross or tower device rendered in relief within a plain inner circle, executed in the bold, somewhat crude Gothic style characteristic of hammered Low Countries copper coinage of the 1520s. The design occupies the majority of the flan, with the heraldic charge clearly dominant. A circular Latin legend reading ANNO DOMINI 1527 encircles the central device along the coin's periphery, denoting the year of issue. The flan edges are irregular and slightly ragged, consistent with hand-hammered manufacture. Green cuprous patina is evident across the surface, indicating natural oxidation over centuries. |
