| Obverse description | Central field bears the legend DA / TRE / DRIA inscribed in three horizontal lines within a beaded or rope inner circle, referencing the name of the lordship (Audenaerde-Reckem). The lettering is rendered in an archaic, irregular Roman capital script typical of hammered copper coinage of the Southern Netherlands in the late 17th century. The coin shows characteristic uneven flan surfaces and irregular edge, consistent with hand-struck production. |

| Additional information |
Reckem was a tiny lordship in the southern Low Countries whose right to strike copper coinage was a feudal privilege increasingly out of step with centralizing Habsburg monetary policy. The "DA TRE DRIA" inscription is a phonetic rendering of "d'a trois deniers" — three deniers — in a region where French, Dutch, and local dialect competed on the same coin face. Lords of Reckem exploited their minting rights aggressively during this period, producing small copper for purely local circulation at a time when such autonomous issues were being systematically suppressed across the Spanish Netherlands.
