Obverse description Crowned heraldic shield bearing a rampant lion to the left, set within a wreath of tulip branches flanking both sides of the design. The wreath is divided at the base by a small escutcheon of Bouillon. The overall composition is typical of early seventeenth-century Low Countries hammered coinage, with an irregular flan and bold relief striking.

Reverse description Three-line Latin inscription BVL / LONEN / SIS arranged within the field, enclosed by a decorative tulip-branch wreath divided at the lower extremity by a small shield bearing the arms of Bouillon. The lettering is rendered in bold Roman capitals characteristic of the regional hammered coinage of the Spanish Netherlands period.
