| Obverse description | Central field displays the crowned arms of the City of Utrecht: a heraldic shield party per bend sinister, with the lower-right portion bearing horizontal parallel lines (representing the civic arms), surmounted by an elaborate mural crown. The shield is supported on either side by rampant lions facing inward, their tails curling decoratively. The legend UTRECHT appears in bold Roman capitals along the lower arc of the coin. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
