Reverse description Crowned municipal arms of Groningen displayed at centre, featuring an eagle displayed on the quartered shield, flanked by two lion supporters rampant facing inward. A royal-style crown surmounts the shield at top. The date of issue appears in the upper field divided on either side of the crown. The overall composition is executed in a bold, somewhat crude relief typical of provincial Dutch copper coinage of the late seventeenth century.
