| Reverse description | Crowned heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Seven United Provinces, supported on either side by rampant lions as shield-bearers, the entire group set within an elaborate cartouche. In the lower exergual area, a smaller escutcheon displays the arms of the city of Enkhuizen — three herrings — identifying the mint responsible for the striking. The date 1673 appears at the close of the encircling Latin legend, which itself is punctuated by rosette stops. The engraving is precise and deeply struck, consistent with the double-thickness piedfort format. |
