Obverse description Armored knight on horseback galloping to the right, sword raised aloft in the right hand, within a beaded inner circle. The crowned arms of West Friesland appear in the lower field beneath the horse. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer border, separated from the inner design by the beaded circle. The overall composition reflects the bold, baroque engraving style characteristic of late seventeenth-century Dutch provincial coinage.

Reverse description Crowned heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Seven United Provinces, supported on either side by rampant lions as shield-bearers, the entire group set within an elaborate cartouche. In the lower exergual area, a smaller escutcheon displays the arms of the city of Enkhuizen — three herrings — identifying the mint responsible for the striking. The date 1673 appears at the close of the encircling Latin legend, which itself is punctuated by rosette stops. The engraving is precise and deeply struck, consistent with the double-thickness piedfort format.
