Obverse description A fully armored knight on a prancing horse moving to right occupies the central field, the rider brandishing an unsheathed sword aloft in his right hand. Beneath the horse, the crowned arms of Zeeland appear in the exergual area. The equestrian figure is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the armor, horse caparison, and raised foreleg, characteristic of the accomplished Dutch milled coinage of the period. The encircling Latin legend is separated from the central device by a beaded inner border.
