Obverse description A fully armored knight on a prancing horse advancing to right, brandishing a drawn sword aloft in his raised right hand; beneath the horse, the crowned arms of Zeeland appear in the field. The equestrian figure is rendered in fine relief characteristic of Dutch milled coinage of the late seventeenth century. The surrounding legend is separated from the central design by a beaded inner circle. This obverse type follows the classic 'Silver Rider' (Rijderschelling) convention adapted here for a presentation gold multiple of ten ducats' weight.
