Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Charles II, depicted in middle age with long, flowing curled hair cascading over his shoulders, wearing armour with ornate lace cravat visible at the chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style characteristic of the Southern Netherlands mints of the late 17th century. A mint mark appears below the bust. The circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading from the left side of the field.

Below the shield, the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece is suspended, with the pendant fleece hanging prominently in the lower field. The entire composition is framed by a circular Latin legend bearing the ruler's titles, with the date split across the lower portion of the legend.
