Obverse description Left-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Ludovico II, Marquis of Saluzzo, wearing a flat cap characteristic of late 15th-century Italian Renaissance portraiture, with long flowing hair visible beneath. The effigy is rendered in a naturalistic profile style, displaying finely engraved detail in the armor and drapery at the shoulder. A Latin legend surrounds the bust within the coin's irregular hammered field.

Reverse description Central crowned shield bearing the quartered coat of arms of the Marquisate of Saluzzo, surmounted by a crown from which emerges the upper half of an eagle with wings displayed, facing left, in the tradition of Italian Renaissance heraldic coinage. The reverse legend, invoking Saint Constantius, the patron of Saluzzo, runs around the periphery of the field, with the abbreviated titles of the marquis flanking the lower portion of the design.
